Bacteriophage typing of Vibrio fluvialis.

Six stable bacteriophages of Vibrio fluvialis were isolated from 44 surface water specimens collected in Thailand and Japan. Twelve different phages types were found among 109 V. fluvialis isolated from feces of diarrheal patients and the environment. Seventy-three percent (80/109) of these 109 isolates were typable with these phages. One phage type, designated as A (1) was predominant and acco...

Identification of Genetic bases of Vibrio fluvialis species-specific

20 Vibrio fluvialis is an important foodborne pathogen that causes diarrheal illness and 21 sometimes extraintestinal infections in humans. In this study, we sequenced the genome 22 of a clinical V. fluvialis strain and determined its phylogenetic relations to other Vibrio 23 species by comparative genomic analysis. We found that the closest relationship was 24 between V. fluvialis and V. furni...

Vibrio fluvialis and Vibrio furnissii isolated from a stool sample of one patient.

We received strains of V. fluvialis and V. furnissii that were isolated from the stool of a 1-month-old baby. A description of these two strains and the case history of the patient are given in this report.
